About Printing
The image I etch with nitric acid onto a zinc plate. To print from this, I go to a local, open-access workshop where there are printing facilities, including a heavy, hand-turned press.
Here I ink up the plate using a number of coloured inks - quite a lengthy process - and then I put the plate with the paper through the press. Each print is inked up separately. Prints are then pressed between blotters, and will take a week or more to dry before being ready to view.
